Our Infertility and IVF Story
Welcome to IVF Baby Hope and to our infertility and IVF story and journey. Since I can remember I always wanted to be a Mom. But I had decided to wait to finish school and start a career, so it didn’t start becoming more of a reality as I entered into my early 30’s. For me, it wasn’t as easy as I thought it would be! I had come from a really large family on both sides, my Mom and her sisters had many kids, so I thought, it should be the same for me! I’ve been through a number of fertility treatments over a 9 year period including Clomid, Letrozole, IUI, and IVF and have experienced 6 miscarriages. The infertility crazy train as I call it! But ultimately, I don’t regret any of it, but I am sure my body and mental health would argue otherwise! My hope and husband has kept me going. Our 1st Rainbow Baby
I was 30 years old when I experienced my first miscarriage and loss and it really tough. I went into a pretty bad depression and it took me about two months to pull myself out of the big hole I had fallen into. I thought if you worked hard and put all your best efforts into life, what you really want will come easy. But for me, it took a big fall and a big uphill climb to get where I wanted to! But once I got to the top of that mountain, wow, was it worth it!
My husband and I tried to conceive for 6 months before going to a Fertility Specialist. She then helped us get pregnant with our first child. We did one round of Clomid and a HCG trigger shot and wham, it worked the first time. I wish all these other treatments were just like that! But let me tell you, I am forever and ever grateful that I was able to experience pregnancy and have a child. #Grateful #Blessed
Our 2nd Rainbow Baby
When my son turned 2 I was ready to try for another baby because I wanted him to have a sibling and I really wanted another baby! Initially we tried naturally and over the course of the year, we did fall pregnant, but it ended in an early miscarriage. We were super hopeful at first because there was a heartbeat, but it was not fast enough, so very worried. This was the beginning of the next phase of trying a variety of treatments to help us get pregnant. I did a few rounds of Clomid, Intrauterine insemination (IUI), and then into In vitro fertilization (IVF). This journey was from age 35 to when I blessed with my daughter via IVF at age 40! My miracle baby through the beauty of amazing doctors and science! I documented my story on YouTube and wanted to give back to others as so many people helped me by sharing their stories. It was very empowering and relieving to talk about my process, feelings, and overall journey with others.
